The legendary UK techno duo of Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle aka Slam are having one of the most prolific spells in their esteemed careers. Rocking the world's leading festivals, clubs and under-the-radar parties with their unique brand of mesmerizing electronic music.
With all of their fresh activities this year, especially with their hot new Paragraph label, SLAM are planning a live festival tour this Summer. Tracks like "Hot Knives", "Variance", "We Doin’ This Again? "and "City Destroyer", all of which have been massive Beatport top 10 sellers and all have had huge DJ support from the likes of Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Dubfire and many many more in 2009. Add to this, their remixes of Radio Slave, Pan-Pot, Josh Wink and Paul Ritch, as well as their classics like "Positive Education", "Lifetimes" and "This World", and you'll have to agree that SLAM have one hell of a musical arsenal to pull on for this year's planned spate of festival-only live shows.
This year's SLAM live shows will be a multimedia sound clash between live Real-time Avenue video software manipulation, projected onto video screens behind them and the sonic assault of Slam's epic music, which will include live drumming and keyboard playing all manipulated by the duo themselves, to create an awesome aesthetic as well as a musical journey which is sure to send the crowd's wild. Early interest has been very strong for this already, as their legendary Soma imprint also plans ahead for its 20th anniversary year in 2011 and so press is expected to be strong worldwide in the 2010 build-up. An album of re-edits and cut-ups of the Paragraph material and the Slam remixes will be released on Soma in the Spring, followed up with a brand new Slam artist album in the late Summer.
